Welcome to the Rochester Federal Subcontracting Initiative's web site. The mission of the RSFI is to work in a collaborative effort to bring together Rochester area firms with federal agencies and prime contractors. This site will serve to keep members notified of upcoming events, maintain a self managed registry database for federal subcontractors, as well as contain pertinent information about subcontracting.

RFSI News
Just a quick update - we're in the process of developing some new programs for 2006-07 and should have some information posted here shortly. In the mean time, if you're seeking assistance in federal subcontracting, be sure to check out the information below, or email David Gottfried with any questions.
Brookhaven Presentations Online
We've been meaning to post all these Brookhaven presentations for a while, and now that we have both the server space and bandwidth, this seemed like as good a time as any to post this:
How to Market Your Business to Brookhaven National Labs - given by Jill Clough-Johnston, Small Business Liaison Officer, BNL
Areas for Collaboration - BNL and Rochester - given by Ralph James, Associate Director, BNL
Small Business Opportunity Fair - Collaborative Opportunities - given by Helen Todosow, Information and Market Analyst, BNL
Thanks to DreamHost for providing a huge amount of server space and bandwidth to make this possible!
Sandia National Labs Presentation Online
And while we're at it, here's a copy of the presentation given by Gil Herrera, Director of Manufacturing Science and Technology at Sandia National Labs. Be warned, this file is over 100mb, so slow connections probably shouldn't try to download this.

Looking for Federal Subcontracting Opportunities?
Then be sure to check out the Small Business Administration's SUB-Net website. This site exists to make small businesses aware of available subcontracting opportunties with federal primes. Visit www.sba.gov/subnet/ for more information and to search current opportunities. Also, be sure to visit the Central Contractor Registration site at www.ccr.gov. In order to conduct most business with the federal government, you must be registered with CCR. For example, in order to be assigned a Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code, you must first be registered with CCR. (CAGE numbers are used by many purchasing activities to indentify the firms with which they do business.) In addition to these site, be sure to read up on each federal agency. For example, for a handbook on working with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), visit the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, & Logisitics or ACQWEB.
