Rochester Federal Subcontracting Initiative is a joint effort between WXXI and Javelin Associates. Founded in 2003, RFSI strives to connect Rochester-area small businesses with federal contracting opportunities, including matching prime contractors with appropriate subcontractors.

Javelin Associates, Inc., founded in 1987, is a consulting firm located in Canandaigua, NY at the Infotonics Technology Center that specializes in assisting clients develop new lines of business as a result of successfully competing for federal contracts and locating partners who can assist in commercializing new technologies. Javelin brings together firms interested in federal subcontracting with representatives from prime contractors, or federal employees tasked with identifying subcontractors. Javelin Associates is a founder and administrator of the Rochester Federal Subcontracting Initiative.
Javelin also manages the Rochester Corporate Training Initiative, Inc. This program, supported by the State of New York, provides training scholarships in support of incumbent worker training. Small businesses with fewer than 500 employees are eligible to receive up to $3500 in training scholarships. Javelin also administers the International Photonics Commercialization Alliance. IPCA is an alliance of international businesses, photonics clusters, and government organizations from the US and Canada working in the field of photonics. The alliance is a not-for-profit organization whose goal is to act as a hub between businesses, regional photonic clusters, and technology commercialization centers, internationally, with the mandate of faci
litating the commercialization of photonic enabled ideas, and help strengthen our members capacity to innovate and to compete in today's global economy.

WXXI-TV, a PBS member station, features award-winning children's shows, news, public affairs, drama, documentaries, performance series, in-school instruction, science, nature and top notch local productions.
- AM 1370,¬? an NPR member station, specializes in news and public affairs programming,including community-based talk shows, like "1370 Connection" and "Innerview". At midnight, join us for World Radio Network from NPR. Each night WRN presents a picture of world events from the perspective of countries from as far away as Australia and New Zealand, to continentalEurope, Russia, Asia, the Middle-East, Africa and the Caribbean.
- Classical 91.5, a PRI member station, broadcasts classical music all day, every day, plus specialty programs such as "A Prairie Home Companion," "With Heart and Voice," "Music from the Hearts of Space" and "Fascinatin' Rhythm."
- City 12 - Custom TV for City Lifestyles. For the last half decade WXXI-TV and the City of Rochester have provided city residents with 14 hours a day of interesting, informative and entertaining new programming. The creation of a television station dedicated to providing City residents with information vital to daily living was the goal of this first of a kind partnership.
- Educational Resources delivers education and information to the community through instructional programming, Ready To Learn, GED on TV, college telecourses, outreach initiatives and local educational productions such as "Homework Hotline" and "Assignment: The World."
- Reachout Radio is a radio reading service that provides direct, immediate and convenient access to printed materials for thousands of print-handicapped people. It combines the depth and details of reporting with the immediacy of radio.
- WXXI Online is our award-winning Web site, featuring WXXI's broadcast schedules, several Web site directories, special areas for Kids and Events, along with "home pages" for WXXI productions and a text-only area for the visually impaired.
